Update 11/27

I was up at the hospital yesterday, and had a good chat with mom, which today she doesn't remember. She is not going to get out between chemo cycles, because of infection and fevers. She will be starting (hopefully) round 3 of 4 cycles sometime next week. We are going to cut it close for her getting out for Christmas.
When I sit down to write I have an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for the love and caring we have experienced. Mom is so blessed to be associated with the cream of the crop in friends and family. Thank you for the calls and cards.

Nana's Favorite Nurse

This is Nana's favorite nurse. Addison comes right on in, takes off her shoes and climbs in bed. She loves going to the hopital with me. She would stay there if I let her.
There is also a photo of Doug and Mom
As you can see Mom's sporting her new feeding tube. She wasn't eatting enough because of the nausea. Everyone keep your finger crossed for Mom getting ou this next week.

Our Wards love and Prayers

Andrea, Doug, Darren, Daniel, Dustin, Alisha,
To ALL of you we say God bless and know that our thoughts, our prayers
and our fasts are dedicated to you at this very difficult time.
Now, this part of the message is directed to our dear friend Andrea.
Please, please nourish your tired body Andrea so that you will be strong
enough to fight like we know you can! You MUST draw on your incredible
strong will now more than ever before to get through this latest trial. We
want to do our part in your fight by CONTINUALLY praying and fasting for
you, and delivering our Relief Society lessons to you. It is our hope that
if you are able to listen to our lessons, they will give you added strength
to keep fighting and keep you connected to your sisters that love and care
about you so much. We will continue to deliver them to you unless we hear
otherwise.
Thank you Forsyth kids for setting up this blog to keep those of us who
love Andrea informed of her condition. You are ALL truly amazing people who
have had to face a lot of adversity and trials over the past couple of years
and are stronger because of it.
Now, if we can do ANYTHING, please call me ANYTIME! (225-0749) Take
care of yourselves and know that we are here for you all.

God bless dear friends,

Hugs, Debbie Sorensen

Wednesday, November 21

Darren and I went to visit Mom today. She is looking better but won't be home for Thanksgiving :-( She has had a fever the last couple of days and they want to make sure that she is past that. She also needs to eat and walk. If you visit her encourage her to do both. We will be smuggling some of my world famous pie into her tomorrow. We need to get some meat on her bones. We talked with Dr. Ashe and the P.A. on duty they are hoping to send her home this weekend. She'll then be home for 7-10 days before they start the next round of treatment. Darren and I gave her a wonderful blessing that will do her some good. Thank you for all your prayers.

Below is a picture of Mom and Cousin Adam

This is a picture taken by my cousin Cindi, that is her son Adam. Adam is going though chemotherapy with a bone marrow transplant at the end also. It's nice to have family up at the hospital at the same time. Last week he was across the hall. We ask everyone to include Adam and his family in your prayers too.

Mom & Adam

Sunday November 18th,2007

I just got back from seen Mom. She had a C.T. scan with contrast on Saturday, it showed that there was no pockets of fluid in the Lungs and only a little pocket of fluid, where the drain is from the splean-ect-amy, that was good news. Dr. Asch said that things where looking good with the white blood cell count, it has dropped and was on the rise. So maybe (keep your fingers crossed) will see her here, in highland before Thanksgiving. Speaking of giving thanks, I am overjoyed by the blessing, prayers and love, we as the Forsyth Family have felt through the process. Thank you all so much. Have a wonderful holiday.

What's happening as of November15th

Hey, this is Alisha. I happened to be there yesterday when the good Dr. Asch came in and told us what was going on. She said that mom had to accomplish three things before she could come home.

  • 1st- Her counts had to drop and then start the climb back up (because she didn't want the counts to drop while she is at my house, to high a risk for an infection)
  •  2nd- She had to be eating more so they didn’t have to give her I.V. nutrition
  • 3rd- She had to get rid of the infection she currently has.

If all goes well it might put her at my house on Tuesday the 20th. She looked really good, if you go to our cousin Adam's blog you can see a picture. She has lost about 40 lbs. to date. She is really tired so for those who have tirelessly called with no answer I apologize. I appreciate all of you that have done so much. We as a family couldn't do without you.

Love Alisha

P.S. Thanks Doug for getting it going, and Darren for the suggestion.

I really wanted to see how well this works.  I’m glad that my brother (high tech I.T. guy) finally got off his butt and created this site.  Now we all need to use it so he didn’t waste his time.

I want to tell Mom how much I love and appreciate her.  You keep fighting!!!  Also, I would like to tell Alisha how grateful I am that she is around.  I don’t know where we would be without her.  I’m sorry I haven’t been more help Sis.   Thanks to all for the help that they have given.  We all love you.  Keep saying those prayers

Mom's Blog

I have been thinking that we need to have something like this for Mom since the beginning. Leave it to Jamie to inspire me to get off of my butt and get this going. If this works the way I envision. Everyone that gets some new information because they were visiting or talking to Mom on the phone will contribute to the blog. This way friends and family can keep up-to-date on Mom's condition and what are her needs. I hope this will be a centralized repository of information.

I will soon post how to update the blog simply by emailing to it. Thank you in advance for contributing to the blog so we can help Mom get better.
